Take a look
In this building, Egbert Douwe once opened his first store specializing in colonial goods.
In 1753, he started in another building on Midstraat. Later, he acquired the store named 'De Witte Os.' In the back of Pand 99, there were the tea factory, coffee roastery, and tobacco processing. The entire building was lost in a major fire in 1881, along with 13 houses, some shops, and a farm. However, it was rebuilt in 1882. In 1914, the production activities were relocated to Slachtedijk, followed by the tea packaging facility in 1933.
