Greidhoek
Characteristic terp villages surrounded by green meadows. The landscape in the Greidhoek still very clearly shows how former residents conquered an old sea. The results: endless meadows. The land was suitable for dairy cattle, so the Greidhoek formed the basis for the Frisian dairy industry. In Wommels, you can discover the complete story in It Tsiispakhûs cheese museum. Some areas have also been designated as wetlands: bird resorts for meadow birds.
