Jaagpad
You cycle directly alongside the water of the Bolsward Canal. In the past, this waterway was used by towboats, pulled on the adjacent path by 'jagertjes.' More information about towpaths in Friesland can be found here.
Tow Canals
The water of the Bolsward Canal runs from Bolsward all the way to Leeuwarden, passing through the villages of Burgwerd, Wommels, along Easterlittens, Baard, to the waters of the Van Harinxma Canal. There is also a branch that goes towards Franeker: Franekervaart. This canal goes from Franeker to Sneek.
