Woodpecker trail in Gaasterland

What do you know about the woodpecker? Check your knowledge on the Woodpecker Trail in the Forestry Commission's Elfenbergen forest! There are woodpeckers in the trees along the route. Each woodpecker has an assignment in the assignment booklet. The woodpecker rucksack contains all the materials you need to complete the tasks. You will measure a woodpecker's nest, measure trees and look for small animals. You will learn what enemies a woodpecker has and much more. 

You can get your woodpecker booklet at visitor centre Mar en Klif in Oudemirdum. Once you have completed all the assignments, return the backpack to Mar en Klif. A little present will be waiting for you there. The Woodpecker trail costs € 3.50 per child, which includes the assignment booklet, the rental of the backpack (1 backpack per 4/5 children) and a gift. The deposit for the Woodpecker rucksack is €20. From the visiting centre, it is about 10 minutes of cycling to the NatuurSchuur, where the route starts!
