Kuiertocht Easterwierrum
Kuiertocht around the mound village of Easterwierrum.
The village of Easterwierrum once originated on the mound of Tsjerkebuorren. Currently, the Ald Toer is located on the mound: a tower with the cemetery. In the village song of Easterwierrum 'De âlde toer', the church is included as the focal point. On the route, you walk along the former location of the village.
Slachtedijk
Easterwierrum is located on the Slachte. This is a 42-kilometer-old embankment that winds from the Wadden Sea coast (near Oosterbierum) to the village of Raerd. The Hegedyk (road from Easterwierrum to Boazum) is the former dike.
Kuiertocht
A "kuiertocht" is a short walking route. So, it probably won't surprise you that in Frisian, "wandelen" translates to "kuierje". You can easily combine a leisurely stroll with an activity in the area, or choose to embark on another leisurely stroll. An overview of all leisurely strolls can be found here.
