Tour Oudega - Sandfirden | SUP and Canoe Route

Go paddleboarding from Oudega (SWF) through inland canals to the picturesque church of Sandfirden and back to the village over the Oudegaaster Brekken.

In the middle of the Oudegaaster Brekken, you'll find an uninhabited island 'Bekema's pôle' where you can take a break and enjoy the view of Doris Mooltsje.

Duration of the Water Route
This water route is not very long at 10 kilometers and is ideal for an evening trip, for instance. In a boat, you can complete the round in about 2 hours. If you're paddleboarding or canoeing, it will take you approximately 3 hours.

Bridges in Friesland
On this route, you'll come across several concrete bridges and culverts that cannot be opened. The bridge in the harbor basin of Oudega is the tightest spot: it's the bottleneck in this route. Where to Dispose of Your Waste
Bringing snacks for the journey? Great, but put empty packaging back into your bag immediately to prevent it from blowing overboard. If you come across litter on the way, would you mind taking it on board? The birds and fish will be thankful! In the villages of Oudega and Sandfirden, there are garbage containers where you can dispose of your waste.

Waterway Information
The majority of the route is a waterway in category DM, suitable for boats with a draft of 1.3 meters and a height of 2.3 meters. To reach the Ringwiel, you have to traverse a section of a narrower waterway with waterway classification F: suitable for boats with a maximum draft of 0.8 meters. This route is also suitable for traveling with an (electric) sloop.
