Jacob Wilbers was a teacher at the Christian primary school in Abbega, but also served in the resistance as an officer of armament of the Dutch Interior Forces in the municipality of Wymbritseradeel. On February 23, 1945, Wilbers was arrested while in hiding with GP Bonga in Woudsend.

Wissink operated under the pseudonym 'Alex'. On February 12, 1945, Wissink was involved in the liberation of resistance members from the police station in Sneek. The day after, a raid was carried out by SD and Landwachters between Oudega and Gaastmeer. Wissink was identified and arrested from an SD car.
