Experience what it is like to sail on a wooden traditional Frisian yacht! The Friese Tjottervloot Foundation organizes an evening sailing trip on De Reiddomp in the summer. On Monday and Wednesday evenings you can sail around Heeg from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM / 9:30 PM. You sail with a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 7 people.
You can actively sail along yourself. Steering is also possible. These used to be ships of wealthy families. Now you can experience for yourself how such a round yacht sails. Everything depends on the weather when sailing. Depending on this, you can take an evening trip on the Heegermeer or through the old waterways in the area.
Location
The Reiddomp is located near the Sylhûs at Pharshoeke 101, 8621 CW in Heeg (in the Passantenhaven). Parking is available directly next to the Passantenhaven Heegerwâl. Then walk to the SFT_WSH building.
Important to know
- Being present fifteen minutes in advance is enough, gather at or around the building (Sylhûs) where the Frisian yacht is ready outside.
- Life jackets are included,
- Adjust clothing to the weather. The weather responds to the water and is often colder than on land. And in the evening it cools down, so bring a warm sweater and/or windbreaker.
- If the wind or rain is too strong, the activity may be cancelled.
