Opening Sneekweek with the traditional Vlootschouw, parade of the participating sailing classes in the Sneekweek sailing competitions with lots of music.
The official opening of the Sneekweek is on Friday evening with the traditional Vlootschouw in the Kolk. The participating sailing classes present themselves with music performances, presentation of the 'boat of the year' and honoring of the 'skipper in the order of the Sneeker Pan'. Thousands of visitors line the quays to watch the parade of boats. The support program starts at 7.30 pm. The fleet review starts at 9.30 pm. After this, the Sneekweek fair will also start and the music squares in the center will start.
The Sneekweek sailing competitions start the next day on Saturday morning on the Sneekermeer. Throughout the week there are various cultural and musical festivities in the center of Sneek.
